Making a powerful first impression, the Reception Counter at Ubix stands as a testament to the beauty of bespoke interior design. Moving away from the traditional, blocky desks of the past, this piece is a masterclass in futuristic fluidity. Rooted in a clean, monochromatic palette of brilliant whites and deep charcoal accents, the counter’s layered, wave-like form mirrors the architectural innovation of a modern corporate renovation.
The design features a series of cascading tiers and soft, rounded edges that guide the eye seamlessly across its length. Integrated into its sleek surface are state-of-the-art digital interfaces and touch-screen terminals, marrying high-tech functionality with a polished, minimalist aesthetic. Set against a backdrop of textured, sandy-hued stone walls, the counter appears almost sculptural—a bright, luminous anchor in a vast, professional lobby. This renovation project prioritizes both the visitor's journey and the efficiency of the staff, creating a space that feels both high-end and remarkably intuitive.
For the Ubix reception area, we wanted to create a "wow" factor that felt both sophisticated and incredibly forward-thinking. The challenge with large commercial lobbies is often their scale; a standard desk would simply get lost. We decided on a bespoke, layered construction to give the counter a sense of movement and weight. The glossy white finish was a deliberate choice to reflect the ambient light and maintain a sense of pristine professionalism.
Beyond the aesthetics, the interior design had to be highly functional. We meticulously planned the integration of the flush-mounted screens to ensure they were at the perfect ergonomic height for both seated staff and standing guests. By incorporating the dark, recessed base, we created a "floating" effect that makes this massive installation feel light and airy. It’s not just a desk; it’s a functional piece of art that sets the tone for the entire building’s technological and design-forward identity.
