Modern Opulence: A Fusion of Marble and Metallic Accents

This Condo Renovation showcases a striking mix of high-contrast materials and precise geometric shapes, redefining urban luxury with its sophisticated, moody style. The design embraces modern richness, using large marble surfaces with bold grey veining to create an impressive backdrop. To soften the cool hues of the stone, warm wood fluted paneling and gold-tinted mirrors are thoughtfully placed, adding depth and a feeling of understated elegance. Reflective surfaces, like the bronze-tinted shelving and glass-topped consoles, invite light to move around the space, producing an atmosphere that is both lively and refined.
Every detail is meticulously crafted, from the chevron-patterned stone feature wall that draws the eye upward to the diamond-shaped wooden wall art that adds a playful architectural element to the neutral walls. Dark chocolate-toned wood cabinets provide a strong contrast to the bright marble floors, while hidden LED strips create a "floating" effect that highlights the clean lines of the custom carpentry. This home effectively uses light and shadow to display a variety of materials, resulting in a space that is as visually stunning as it is inviting.
For this project, the aim was to create a space that resembled a high-end boutique hotel while keeping the warmth of a private home. We concentrated on "zoning" the open living area with different wall treatments instead of using physical barriers. For example, the shift from the lounging area to the walk-in storage was marked by a change from matte marble to reflective gold-trimmed mirrors, which also helps visually enlarge the corridor.
One key challenge was finding ways to add plenty of storage without making the condo feel cramped. Our solution was to create a multi-functional TV feature wall that combines marble, wood slats, and mirrored panels. This design hides clutter and acts as the room's artistic centerpiece. We also added custom-crafted geometric wall accents to break up the flat surfaces of the walls, giving a unique, handcrafted touch to the modern look. By mixing "heavy" materials like stone with "light" elements such as glass and gold, we created a space that feels luxurious yet well-balanced.
